This person’s position is to ensure strategic and effective communication of relevant client news, including scientific news, corporate social responsibility events, executive external opportunities and special events. Additionally, the Senior Public Relations Specialist is to ensure efficient and effective internal communication of client’s company news and events to employees using internal communications vehicles in addition to, developing the client brand internally in alignment with their company goals and core values.

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

B.A. in Communications (or related field-PR, Public Policy, Business, etc.), or B.S.in Scientific area of study, with a minimum of 10 years related life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry experience and a minimum of 5 years applicable experience in corporate communications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to listen effectively and capacity to summarize complex information into clear oral and written communications
Strong writing and editing skills
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical, hospitality, and consumer lifestyle industries
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team (internal and external) to deliver tangible results while demonstrating key traits of creativity, initiative, flexibility and leadership.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Ability to multi-task and think creatively and analytically while under pressure and established deadlines
Organizational skills and ability to manage and maintain accurate and detailed records, files etc.
Advanced skills with the following computer software: Microsoft Word and Office, and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and InDesign

Hello! My name is Venice and I am a senior majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations at San Diego State University. When I am not busy with school, you can find me curled up with a book, eating, or browsing my latest obsession: Pinterest. I seem to have a love-hate relationship with the gym, but I find that yoga and spinning classes keep me sane when life gets too hectic. Hello! I’m Sandra and I am one of the public relations interns. I’m currently a senior at San Diego State University, studying public relations and Spanish.
